Verene is an investment holding company in the electric power sector. It was founded in November 2022, following the acquisition of the totality of shares in energy transmission companies by CDPQ, a global investment group that manages funds for public pension and insurance plans in Québec. Currently, Verene’s portfolio consists of:
Responsible for defining the company’s strategy and objectives, ensuring its financial and operational success. With over 30 years of experience in the electric power sector, he has held leadership positions in major companies, including Vice-President at AES Eletropaulo, Director of Corporate Security and Technical Director at EDP, and Director of OM at AES Tietê. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and has a post-graduate degree in Administration from COPPEAD, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Additionally, he has a specialization in Maintenance Optimization from the State University of Rio de Janeiro.

Chief Financial Officer
She leads the company’s financial planning and strategy. With over 20 years of experience in financial management, she has held various leadership positions in electric power sector companies, such as AES Eletropaulo and Brookfield Gestão de Empreendimentos. She also served as CFO of UHE Teles Pires, where she dedicated herself to administrative, financial, and environmental areas, including Purchasing and Human Resources. She started her career as a Financial Analyst at AES Brasil, graduated in Economics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, and holds a post-graduate degree in Economic Law from Fundação Getúlio Vargas.

Responsible for legal, compliance and facilities management. With over 15 years of experience in the electric power sector, he has held various executive and legal positions, including Legal Manager and Executive Lawyer at Taesa, as well as Legal Manager and Director at Terna Group. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Law from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and a post-graduate degree in Business Law with an emphasis on Corporate Law and Capital Market from Fundação Getúlio Vargas.

Leads the technical teams to ensure safety, efficiency, and quality in energy transmission operations. He is also responsible for the company’s technological innovations. With over 25 years of experience in electrical engineering, he began his career in 1994 and expanded his skills in positions such as Maintenance Coordinator and Project Manager. Additionally, he worked for Taesa as Manager of Business Management. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the State University of Santa Catarina and a post-graduate degree in Business Management and Strategy from Fundação Getúlio Vargas.
